Coding: Javascript for Beginners

Javascript (JS) is the programming language used to make interactive web pages. In this program, we will use beginning JS to make a rocketship animation! 

Laptops will be provided to use software called CodePen. Though an account is not necessary to code, projects can only be saved if an account is created. If your child wishes to save their animation, please visit the CodePen website before the program to create an account. Grades 4-7. Registration required.

If you are unable to attend, please notify the library at least 24 hours before the program. Repeated no-shows will result in a two-month suspension from program registration. Late arrivals (15 minutes after program start), will not be admitted and will count as a no-show.

Program attendees will be provided with eclipse viewing glasses, made possible by a grant from The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Space Science Institute. One per person. While limited supplies last.

Teen Make It: Walking Robots

Teens will make fun and unique walking robots by using motors and circuits. STEAM Focus: Science. Technology, and Engineering For Grades 6 - 12. Registration required.

Eclipse Exploration

Tween Tinker Lab: Lunar Lander Challenge

Using a variety of materials, participants will be challenged to engineer a system that can land their "astronaut" safely on the moon's surface. For Grades 4-7. Registration required.
