Telling a People's Story is a museum-quality exhibit devoted to the art found within the pages of African-American children's picture books. The exhibit celebrates the African-American experience through a lens intended for children and young readers. The exhibit represents events and milestones in African-American history such as African Origins, slavery, emancipation, segregation and the Civil Rights Movement. The selection of nearly 130 works includes paintings, pastels, drawings and mixed media.
This travelling exhibit is on loan from Miami University.
