Solar Eclipse Viewing @ the Library!

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Centerville Library
Library lawn

Event Details

Take time out of your busy day and drop by the library to watch an eclipse of the sun right out on the library lawn! (We won't have a total eclipse, but we will be at 89% totality, which is still incredible.) For the first time in one hundred years, the U.S. will be the prime location world-wide to watch the eclipse occur!

What you can expect (all times Ohio-time): The eclipse will start at 1:02 p.m., will reach 89% totality by 2:30, and will be completely over by 4 p.m. Check out this gadget created by the University of Berkeley and Google - just type in the name of any city in the US to see how the eclipse should look at that location!

Bring your lawn chairs, kids, blankets and snacks and watch the sky with us!

**NEW** Caution - Watching an eclipse without special sunglasses can permanently damage vision. Approved glasses should meet the accepted intl. standard of ISO 12312-2 as an E-15 level of protection (approx. 100,000 time stronger than regular sunglasses).
