Balloon Magic Workshop

Have fun while learning how to make balloon creations in this hands-on live virtual workshop led by Erica Carlson from Erica Carlson Children's Entertainment! You will make three awesome balloon creations with Ms. Erica as your professional guide. A parent/caregiver must be in attendance to help. Program kits are available to pick up at either Centerville or Woodbourne Library Children's Desk starting January 28.  For grades 2 - 5 and a parent/caregiver.

Registrants will receive an instructional video about inflating and tying balloons a few days prior to the event to help things run smoothly during the workshop.

Nailed It! At-Home Valentine Edition

Compete in the library's virtual version of Nailed It with your family! Work together and show off your amateur baking skills to create a fun treat! Registrants will need to purchase their own supplies listed below. For grades 1 - 5 and their families. Registration is required. When registering, please only register one person for your family.

Supplies Needed:
  • 24 cupcakes, baked and cooled from 1 box (16.5 ounces) strawberry supreme cake mix (substitute 1 cup of buttermilk for the water)
  • 1 cup red jelly beans
  • 24 round butter cookies, 2 1/2 inch round
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) pink candy melting wafers
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
  • 1 can (16 ounces) chocolate frosting
  • 24 mini chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 tube (4.25 ounces each) red, white, and black decorating icing
  • 1/2 cup dark cocoa candy melts
  • 48 black licorice pastels
