Art Show: A Celebration of Our People, Our Community

In conjunction with the City of Centerville, Washington-Centerville Public Library and the Centerville Arts Commission are hosting an art contest for all ages with the theme: A Celebration of Our People, Our Community. Members of the Centerville Arts Commission will judge all applicants and those selected will be exhibited at the Woodbourne Library. The public will vote for their favorites using a ballot which can be submitted to a ballot box at the Library. Winners will receive both a monetary award and their work will be exhibited at the Centerville Art Gallery at the Centerville Police Department January 2023. Here are the age groups:
  • 6 to 12 years old (application due June 1) - Displayed in August
  • 13 to 9 years old (application due July 1) - Displayed in September
  • 20 to 45 years old (application due August 1) - Displayed in October
  • 45+ (application due September 1) - Displayed in November

LIVE Virtual Storytime

Join us for LIVE virtual storytime with Ms. Kelly! Your whole family will enjoy listening to stories, singing songs, and saying rhymes with us. Some of our favorite songs and rhymes can be found on this rhyme sheet. If you'd like, feel free to use it to follow along during storytime. Were also going to be using a shaky egg, so if you have any type of shaker at home, have it handy. If not, you can make a homemade shaker by putting dry beans or rice in a water bottle or plastic container. 

We will be using Zoom for this program. In order to use Zoom, you will need a computer or the Zoom app downloaded to your mobile device. The link to join the event will be emailed to you prior to start of storytime. If you don't see it, be sure to check your junk mail. Registration required.

Family Trivia Night

Enjoy a family-friendly trivia night at the library! There will be six rounds with ten questions each. See if your family can be the top family! Registration required. This program is for children in grades 3 - 12 and their families. Younger siblings are welcome. At least one parent/guardian must be present for each team. Teams with just children, teens, or adults only will not be permitted. Each family will be counted as a team and will have their own table. Light snacks will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to the top two families.

Nature Fun!: An Outdoor Family Storytime

Join your favorite storytellers for nature-themed stories and activities. Fun for the whole family!

This outdoor program is dependent on weather conditions. Please check the Library Facebook page or the Centerville-Washington Parks District web site for cancellation information. Open to all ages. Registration through the Centerville-Washington Park District is recommended, but not required. You may bring your own blanket to sit on to allow for social distancing.
